Support Purple City

Purple City is a community-driven non-profit, powered year-round by a small core team and countless volunteer hours. Each September, we expand with the help from dedicated volunteers to bring thousands of people together in downtown Edmonton for a weekend of diverse, inclusive, and accessible music and arts.

This youth-focused festival has become a vital part of Edmonton’s cultural fabric, creating opportunities for artists, drawing visitors, showcasing local business and organizations and contributing to the city’s creative economy. In doing so, Purple City works to centre Edmonton as a global culture hub. However, ticket sales cover only a fraction of what it actually costs to produce the festival and continue this critical work. With rising operational costs and shrinking public funding, the need for community investment has never been greater.
